Our Students Experience a Truly Unforgettable Youth Leadership Encounter (YLE) in Miami

The Youth Leadership Encounter (YLE) held in Miami has become an experience our pupils will carry with them forever. For the students of Agora Madrid International School, Agora Lledó International School, Agora Portals International School, Agora Sant Cugat International School and Agora Granada International School, taking part in this encounter has been a transformative opportunity, allowing them to discover new perspectives, broaden horizons and connect with young leaders from across the globe.

A transformative international experience

More than 150 students and teachers from three continents gathered at this international event, which year after year consolidates itself as a privileged space for cultural exchange, critical thinking and youth leadership. Participating in the YLE represents for our pupils a bridge towards global education, where learning becomes a living, diverse and profoundly enriching experience.

Over the course of nine days of activities, the students shared projects, ideas and global values with peers of different nationalities, experiencing first-hand what it means to collaborate, debate and build joint solutions. This international exchange reaffirms the central purpose of our educational proposal: to learn from the world and for the world.

Investigation, leadership and international recognition

One of the pillars of the encounter was the research work presented by the participating schools, including those developed by our students. All the Agora International School teams demonstrated an exceptional level: rigour, creativity, critical analysis and great sensitivity towards global challenges. Their research reflected the commitment and preparation of our pupils, leaving a magnificent impression among attendees and the evaluation committee.

Special mention goes to the outstanding work presented by the students of Agora Sant Cugat International School, which was selected by the jury as the winning research project of YLE Miami. This recognition celebrates not only the academic quality of the project, but also the team’s ability to propose innovative solutions and communicate their ideas with clarity, impact and purpose. An achievement that honours the entire Agora International School community.

The programme, organised by the International Schools Association, was as comprehensive as it was inspiring. It included environmental initiatives, sessions with experts from Florida International University, leadership workshops, debates on sustainability and global citizenship, as well as practical experiences in scientific and marine centres that brought students closer to research and environmental conservation.

For our pupils, experiencing the YLE in Miami was not only exciting but also deeply formative. Many of them emphasise the value of living alongside young people from other cultures, listening to new voices, working in teams and realising that their ideas can have an impact beyond their school or country. This experience encourages them to dream big, to take on new challenges and to feel part of an international community that shares goals and aspirations.
