Shaping the world
Children entering education today will graduate as young adults in 2030.
As educators, we at Globeducate have the opportunity and the responsibility to lay the foundations for a better future, and this starts with responding to the changes we see in the world and the approach we take to the education we provide in our schools.
In talking to our students, teachers and parents, the desire to ensure that we go beyond what traditional educational models allow is clear.
At Agora International School our mission is to prepare them for jobs that have not yet been created, for technologies that have not yet been invented, and to teach them how to solve problems that have not yet been anticipated. We must encourage our young people to embrace and shape their own futures and to understand that they form part of a global community and are capable of shaping the world.
At our schools, as Globeducate schools, we are committed to the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this commitment, we have entered into partnerships with international organisations such as the Eco-schools Project and WWF (World Wildlife Fund), participating in global schools' projects that involve students, teachers and parents, and bringing together a worldwide community of more than 100,000 people.
"No one will protect what they don´t care about, and no one will care about what they have never experienced."
Sir David Attenborough
Global community
In addition to these agreements with prestigious organisations, Globeducate organises international events every year, bringing together students from all over the world from the group's different schools. Students share their knowledge in an atmosphere of healthy competition and exchange their projects and solutions. These events include sporting, academic, musical and artistic competitions, as well as meetings to develop leadership and public speaking skills or United Nations simulations in which pupils represent delegates from different countries and debate global problems in English.
The aim of this agenda is to educate students committed to the world and to the great challenges of our time. Students with a wide range of skills and human responsibilities that go beyond academic success. Through multilingualism and internationalism, our students become aware of their world and learn to appreciate other cultures and points of view. An education based on values such as commitment, empathy, respect and responsibility so that our students contribute to building a better world through mutual understanding and intercultural respect.
